Each year, only a few hundred individuals are selected from thousands of applicants nationwide to help create The First Lady’s official holiday decor.
“This has been a dream of mine since I was nine years old,” Leonard said. “It’s one of those rare moments where preparation, patience, and passion all meet at the right time. I’m honored to represent Illinois and the Metro East of Saint Louis while contributing to such a meaningful holiday tradition at the White House.”
Each year, the White House Christmas decorating initiative highlights the creativity and dedication of volunteers who contribute more than 300 hours of combined service. Participants assist with concept execution, floral installations, tree décor, room themes, and the overall transformation of the People’s House into a holiday experience viewed by millions around the world.
Leonard is the founder of Faith Haven Creative, where she helps women-owned businesses strengthen their presence through social-media coaching, marketing strategy, and interior styling. She also manages My Illinois Home, a home-decor and seasonal inspiration page on Instagram and Facebook with over 100,000 followers, where she shares approachable home design and decorating ideas.
